For this review I will be explaining my thoughts on this representation of soundwave via amazon.com’s star based rating system.

How much fun?

Soundwave is not fun to play with as he is basically bad in any configuration you can put him in. As a satelite he is unrealistic so that is no disguise and for a transformer that is a problem. His space cruiser mode is an attempt to stretch the satellite form into a third mode in order to call him a triple changer. This form is a simple wing shift that looks ok at best. The robot mode, though having potential is rather fragile and awkward which leads to…

How durable?

Soundwave is not durable. His legs fall off easily the satellite panels fall off constantly and the hair trigger on the missile makes it fire without warning losing that piece. Losing parts and a lack of solid engineering does not hold well for the next question.

How educational?

This toy is in no way shape or form educational. As stated earlier his satelite form has no realism to it so learning about space is out. His engineering is flawed without any solid structure and this flimsiness will only teach kids that this item was a waste of time and money.

Overall?

This is a bad toy that has completely failed ALL aspects of this review and therefore I conclude that this rendition of soundwave is not going to be good for kids or collectors.

Thank you for your time.

I went to TOYS R US today and I saw the transformers ROTF display up and I picked up DEMOLISHER. When I got back in the car I transformed him. I thought it was pretty neat. I think he looks cool in vehicle and robot mode. Only one part has fallen off and it was easy to put back on. Its wheel even moves in robot mode. His arms kind of help him stand up. I would really recommend it!

Comment for picture 11. Too big? If toys would be in a real scale optimus must be 2.5 cm long… haha lol. Or Demolisher like 1 mitre high.. lol

      Bercik December 29, 2009 at 11:18 pm

Found this guy, Demolisher, on sale on Target. As others have said, he is probably one of the harder ones to transform, which surprised me, as I thought hed be one of the easier ones. the directions were hard to understand.. We’ve had half and half luck with the voyager class transformers, so I was prepared if it came down to this, he would be designated to shelf life, like my son’s Starscream and Ironhide. but, he seems more durable them then and my son loves his design.

Just be prepared for a hard transformation..my son is 8 and had a tough time with it..although normaly he is the whiz at those things.

Over the past 2 years or so my son has accumulated about 10 Transformer Figures and loves them all. They hold up reasonably well and offer lots of play value.. Voyager class Demolisher is not on par with the other Transformers.. Its hard to Transform, the wheels don’t turn very well, if at all…and one of the rubber treads ripped/broke after about 10 minutes of play… COOL character,, poorly designed toy…

I agree with Rodolfo. Read his review for the technical flaws. I regret buying this thing and, especially, opening it. I should have compared the scale in the store, but didn’t do so until it was too late. I live in coal country and have stood beside a slightly smaller version of this sort of “steamshovel.” Were this to scale, any of the deluxe class cars/SUV’s should easily fit in the bucket. This is a joke. This should have been made in Ultra class scale or, at minimum, Leader class.

For a real eye-roller, place this version of Demolishor beside the Chromia and Arcee Deluxe models, which I’m definitely not buying b/c the scale is so ludicrous.

obviously not educational, but definitely a must buy, he looks great and i love the colors, even though his eye is purple when it should be orange, i love him all the way, no real complaints with the toys performance, but i would have loved a Reedman mini-figure ( razor-thin side-kick to Ravage) Very movie accurate!

      Bloem December 30, 2009 at 3:22 am

Ravage is just plain awesome!!! What a toy! His cat mode is both G1 accurate yet it has that scary viscous side that the new movie line figures are known for. He is honestly my favorite deluxe of the “Revenge of the Fallen” line and currently sits on my display shelf with his buddy Generation one Soundwave.

      Campbell December 30, 2009 at 4:25 am

As all Transformers G1 fans know..when Soundwave needs some recon work to be done..he usually calls on Ravage.

Now with Transformers: Revenge of the fallen, we get to see Michael bay’s take on Everybodys favorite Decepticon Kitty. its a interesting look …it has that alien quality that the films are going for, but with the G1 series Influence.

Hasbro/takara’s version is spot on to the movie version. Ravage has snapping jaws (love those!) pretty good poseability, and has his trademark hip mounted weapons. the tail is poseable to a degree also.

his re-entry mode is interesting, but for me the alien panther/jaguar mode is the tops .

if you have purchased the movie Soundwave…you should pick up his counterpart..ravage.

      Pros..

      its ravage!
      Movie accurate detail.

      Cons…

Ravage has that one eye…why not give him 2 eyes to match him up more to his g1 days? this is just a minor thing, because it works on screen.

i would have liked them to have him growl (cmon its ravage after all) but that would have probably made him more expensive i guess.

over all The Movie version of ravage figure is a great buy.

hes sort of hard to find..i was on my lunch hour and went to wal-mart where they were stocking the shelves..and i got the last one..i found out that some cases dont even have him…if you see this bad little kitty..pounce on him!
