Wow, I am amazed that so many people didn’t give this a higher rating.
First off, it is a toy. I do not expect adult quality and durability when I purchase a TOY. Second, it’s not expensive. How can you expect a functioning camcorder, compass and spotting scope for the price of a toy?
My favourite thing about this item is the EASY TO OPEN packaging. It was out of the packaging in one minute. When you have kids and have to open a lot of their toys, you know what a pain in the behind those loss-prevention packaging inventions can be. Torturuous! This was a box with a plastic shell to keep the items in place, with one plastic band to keep the lid of the backback closed. Plastic, not a wire tie. Easy to undo.
Now, the toys. This comes with a plastic compass. The top of the compass turns, but the face does nothing. The camcorder has the side screen that pops out, and you can look through the viewfinder. The ’spotting scope’ is a kaleidescope! This is fun for kids, more fun that just looking through plastic. Then, there is a map. It’s heavy duty vinyl. And the backpack itself is nice. The clasp to open is easier than the one on the Rescue Pack. The talking mouth takes no effort to make it speak. You don’t have to press hard at all. And the handle is on there securely.
This is a really great item for the Dora fan in your life. Imaginative play is essential for children, and this is a great tool.

I got this for my 3 year old grandson’s Birthday….A very good price, good toy…I suggest ordering the recommended batteries at the same time…also a good price..saves trips out etc.
My son got this for his 2nd birthday and he loves it so far. He likes cars/trucks but really loves toys that make noise so this is a great toy for him. His 5 yr old brother likes it too and they keep fighting over it. I would totally recommend this for any boy aged 2-6.
I bought this truck for my 3 yr old boy and he absolutely went nuts over it. Chuck practically comes to life. My son couldn’t stop laughing! Great toy for the money and seems to be solidly built. I highly recommend Chuck.
VERY PLEASED WITH THE DOLL ONCE IT ARRIVED. MY GRANDCHILD IS VERY HAPPY WITH HER OWN DORA AND FASCINATED HOW DORA CAN TALK.
It’s the right size for my 1 yr old to carry around and it isnt real loud. She loves the camera that came with hers. She runs around “taking pictures”. She doesnt really care for the bracelet though. She has a hard time finding the button to make it talk; it’s on Dora’s tummy instead of a hand like most toys.
got this doll for my 2.5 yr old daughter who likes Dora. I have to admit that she likes this doll and carries it around(perhaps that’s what matters ?). However in terms of price ([...]) I think it is cheap/poorly designed : Head is too big, hair is short/cheap and the hood does not come of easily (which my daughter sometimes wants to remove). So overall, just an ok doll charging extra for the Fisher-Price brand name but without quality.
This Dora doll was pretty close to what I was looking for – a doll that looked like Dora in her original outfit, etc. and still fun to play with. My daughter loves this doll and the bracelet that came with the doll is fun as well.
You can’t go wrong with a Dora doll. And I love this sporty look. Dora still wears her signature pink and orange, but in a long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt and nylon sweatpants. Her legs and arms are soft fabric. The head and torso hard plastic. My 3-year-old daughter was so excited to find her very own Dora bracelet hidden inside Backpack.
Squeeze Dora’s tummy to hear 3 phrases:
“Hola, I’m Dora.”
“We did it! Lo Hicimos!” and
“Swiper, no swiping!”
We have both this vacuum and the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn vacuum (given as gifts). At first I thought the FP vacuum would be the favorite, it is more colorful and makes more sounds/music/etc. However, all three of my kids prefer this vacuum over the FP one. The only think I can think of is that this one is is taller than the FP one by several inches. My kids love this vacuum and every day someone is pulling/pushing it around the house.
My son got this vacuum for his 2nd birthday and he loves it more than any toy he’s ever had in his young lift. The evening of this birthday party he “vacuumed” our house for 45 minutes straight. He hasn’t tired of it since. The vacuum sounds real without being annoying. It says some cute sayings. It reclines just like a real vacuum. It even has the attachable thing for hard to reach places.
On the weekends, my son and I vacuum the house together, me with my real one and him with his Dusty the Talking Vacuum. I love this toy, too — it allows me to relax while my son is happy and occupied.
I bought this for a friend’s little girl so I never got to see it in action. It seems to be a favorite though from what I hear!
My son received this toy for his first birthday. He absolutely loves it. I had requested this as a gift for him, since he was always so scared whenever I vacuumed the house. He fell in love with this toy, and soon afterwards, he started pushing his vacuum around while I vacuumed the floors. Not only has he stopped screaming and crying while I vacuum, he’s become an adorable little helper!
This toy is extremely cute. At first we didn’t use the sound because it scared my little man. However, he quickly got used to it. My husband and I still chuckle at some of the phrases like … “Is that a rabbit? Nah, it’s just a dust bunny!” and “[Cough, cough] I think I ate a hairball!” Cute!
After 6 weeks of constant use, it shows no signs of wear and tear. It’s very light weight and easy for my son to push around. We absolutely love this toy! The only thing that would make it better is if it actually vacuumed… my floors would be spotless!!!
We bought the Dirt Devil Jr first, thinking authenticity would be important. But the handle’s a little tall for our tall 1.5-year old, and the vacuum is hard to push on carpet. He also struggled with the on-off switch. So, we bought this one, and he loves it. Right height, easy to push, and it turns on and off automatically with use. A loves it and so do we. The only complaint I have so far is that the hand attachment doesn’t stay “docked” very well, so it just kind of hangs off the vacuum, but it doesn’t seem to bother him at all.
We purchased this toy for my son’s fourth birthday. After only 3 times of pulling the string to make Woody talk (literally), it stopped working. My husband likes to fix things, so he was able to take the components apart and fix the problem. The lid to the battery was on too snug and did not allow for the pull-string to work properly. He’s had to to fix this one other time in the past 3 weeks. This toy is not for little children as the pull-string is very fragile. It is cute and just like the character in the movie. My son would have been happy to have it even if it didn’t speak. Just keep in mind who you are buying it for. (And the hat that comes with the toy does not stay on…easy to lose.)
