This stacking toy box is great, my daughter has had them for a year and they are still a “go to” favorite which is impressive.
When she was 18 mo. she would look at the animals and letters, then she moved onto stacking and learning “big” “small” and size relationships…and now she is two and uses it as a “handbag”. Our next learning step will be to associate the letters with the animals. “G for Giraffe”…etc.
Great smart toy for any toddler!!

My daughter (now 18 months) LOVES these blocks! She’s played with them for several months now – we actually keep them in our bedroom so if she gets up a little early for our tastes, she can play with them for awhile without needing our help. They’re nice and quiet and have saved me many hours of sleep!
Obviously at 18 months she’s not using them to learn letters, but they’re still educational as she practices putting the various sizes inside one another. Her big 4 year old sister uses them occasionally too, mostly to entertain her little sister. The pictures are bright and creative.
As many reviewers noted, they are made of hard cardboard, so I could see how they might break. Ours have been played with daily for 6 months, and they are still in great shape, so maybe we are just lucky. My daughter chewed on plenty of other things, but never these.

My just-turned 2 year old had fun with this the first time he used it, but wasn’t interested in it the the 2nd time I brought it out. His biggest problem was when trying to nest them. If he didn’t have the open end facing up (one side out of six possible choices), he couldn’t put any of the others inside. He had no problems on the stacking, though. I’ll try again in a few weeks.
I got these nesting blocks for my sons first birthday, we loved them at first…but soon learned that they arent for everyday play. About 6 months later they started showing signs of serious wear and needing the corners taped. Now we’ve had them for 8 months and I just threw them out bc they were in such bad shape. Not a toy that will last time!
These blocks are great! My mother got them for my daughter for a christmas gift a few years ago, she is now 3 years and 9 months. At first she liked to stack and knock down. Know she tries to find the next letter or find the right size to stack ontop of one bock so that the next block is smaller and fits.
The box has a handle so it is easy to carry. And the box can be used to stack on also to make the tower taller. The box is not as sturdy and she has only just started to stack on the box and doesn’t use it all the time. She also has as much fun trying to find the right order to put them back in the box.
The blocks also have animals and colors that we use to help teach her them. She now uses them to teach her little brother how to stack, colors, letters and animals. She will also have conversations with the animals on the blocks, so I know that they are sparking her imagination also.
We have not had a problem with these block yet, but other Melissa and Doug cardboard items she has torn. Between her and now he little brother, it is only a matter of time before they tear.
I really like this toy. Our baby has had lots of fun dismantling the sandwich and exploring all the pieces. It is fun and I really like that everything is machine washable (except the picnic basket itself). It is fun and we have fun playing with our baby with this product!
When I got this toy today, I immediately fell in love with it. My daughter has been playing with it all day.
The sandwich has little velcro on it so the bread, tomato, lettuce, and cheese stay together. Since I am a vegetarian, I thought it was neat that the sandwich didn’t have ham or some other meat in it…just cheese.
The soda pop “bottle” shakes with a rattle inside. The watermelon squeaks when you squeeze it. And the ice cream cone also has a bell/rattle inside.
Very adorable and age appropriate for babies 6 months and over.
Gave this to my daughter for her first birthday. She has had it for only two days, but has already played with it a ton. Loves the sounds all of the food makes, loves the pull apart sandwich, loves to take everything out of the basket and put it back in. Great toy.
We got this for our daughter’s 1st birthday and it is so cute. The little soft pieces are very well made and she enjoys the rattle sounds and pulling the sandwich apart. She also likes putting the pieces in and out of the basket. Really cute toy!
I personally love this toy. It is so very cute. I got it for my 6 month old and she really just chews on it right now. I think she will enjoy it more as she gets older.
My three year old son loves to hit the keys, the build quality is good, sounds great, much better than those electronic ones. This is real sound.
My grandson (now 3 1/2) loves music and instruments. We ordered two for our twin granddaughters (age 2) and they love hearing the different sounds from the keys. I highly recommend this for children age 18 months and older!
My daughter is 9 months old. when I first open the box right away I fall in love with it!! so cute~~even though samller than I thought, but My daughter loves it………….good purchase I never ever made, I will order one more for my friend’s daughter!!
MELISSA & DOUG’S LEARN TO PLAY PIANO IS PERFECT FOR TODDLERS. WE PURCHASED IT FOR OUR GRANDSON. IT HAS A 2 OCTIVE KEYBOARD AND TRUE SOUND – NOT A TOY LIKE SOUND. IT IS MADE VERY WELL, STURDY AND AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTO – BRIGHTLY COLORED. IF YOUR DESIRE IS TO STIR UP THE LOVE OF MUSIC WITHIN YOUR CHILD OR GRANDCHILD, THIS PIANO IS THE PERFECT TOOL TO DO SO. OUR SON TAUGHT PIANO FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE IS THE ONE WHO DID THE RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS PIANO.
The item was received well packaged in Amazon’s usual overkill packaging. It took me 30 minutes just to get it out. Then, disappointment when my niece and nephew opened it up on their birthday only to find that 2/3 of the keyboard doesn’t work. I don’t think it was damaged in shipping, the piano otherwise looks perfect. I suspect it is either defective or poorly made such that something shook loose in the shipping. Am waiting for a replacement but I am wondering how long it will last given some of the reviews here about durability. I’ve seen other Melissa and Doug toys and they seem more sturdily made.
